Before you pick up a wrench
- This is not the factory procedure. Steps are an overview of what comes off. Torque values and one-time-use bolts are left out unless a step says otherwise. Check a factory repair manual for your car.
- The engine is a stand-in model. Parts are in roughly the right places. The routing of hoses, pipes, wiring and A/C lines is a best guess, and bolt markers show count, not exact position.
- Work safely. Support the car on stands, let the engine cool, relieve fuel pressure before opening a fuel line, and have a shop recover the A/C refrigerant before opening that system.
